Maybe because people are expecting the battery life — up to seven days in smartwatch mode, 13 hours in GPS mode. I just control the watch every time I shower, and sometimes for two additional minutes when I am washing up before bed. Thus, it charges for about 30 minutes daily, which appears to be more than sufficient. At the moment, I am spending roughly 3-4 hours weekly running, so that is how long the watch is spending in GPS mode.
